If you missed last night, Douglas Beaven resigned as President of the Flagler County Democratic Club. Douglas is a member of the US Army Reserves serving in the 993rd Transportation Company based in Palatka, FL. The 993rd is being deployed late this summer and will have 70 days of active duty training between now and the end of July. Douglas will not find out if he is honored to serve this Country overseas until July but decided to resign and spend as much time with his family as possible prior to a potential deployment. His resignation is effective March 1st and will allow the incoming president much needed time to organize & mobilize prior to November's election.
